“Here it all begins” Summary of the episode of November 6, 2024
Sabri confides in Leonard
At home, Sabri apologizes to Leonard for not having offered to stay for dinner the day before. Leonard shows understanding. In his eyes, Sabri is as much a “victim” as he is of the Listrac chef who trapped them with this dinner. He nevertheless finds it touching that Olivia strives to help Sabri integrate socially. Sabri confides to Leonard that living with her godmother is not easy, especially since she tends to behave like a real mother hen. He then gives Leonard some advice on a video game. Sabri then indulges in some confidences. He confides to Leonard that his father put terrible pressure on him to be the best in e-sport. Sabri also admits to having injured his hand to put an end to this pressure.
At the end of the day, Sabri confronts Claire and Olivia. He emphasizes that he doesn’t need a matchmaker to manage his social life. Claire and Olivia apologize. The Listrac chef offers her godson to prepare his favorite dish to make amends, but Sabri refuses, because he has planned to have dinner with Leonard. Olivia and Claire are jubilant.
Carla goes too far
Carla helps Coline improve the presentation of her plates. Before moving on to practice, she begins with a lesson on colors, then she gives an exercise to her cousin. Gaspard arrives at the studio. He and Carla do not fail to make fun of Coline in her presence. Exasperated, Coline tells her cousin that she would rather have bad taste than be a bad person, then she leaves the room.
A little later, chef Armand gives a lesson to a group of first and second year students. At the time of the tasting, Clotilde makes a comment to Coline about her training. She finds the presentation of her plate too messy. In his eyes, this lacks finesse. On the other hand, the taste is there. Clotilde gives Coline a 12/20 and emphasizes that she would have had an 18/20 if the dressage had been up to standard. Chef Armand then moves on to Carla’s plate. The presentation of the plate is harmonious. On the other hand, Clotilde believes that in the mouth, her deconstructed orange duck is very classic and lacks personality. She gives Carla a 10/20.
A little later, Carla still can’t digest her note and chef Armand’s remarks. Above all, she can’t say to herself that she was less gifted than Coline. She confides her frustration to her girlfriend Bérénice. Overwhelmed by anger, she is very cruel and hurtful towards Coline. She says she doesn’t understand how they can share common genes. She expresses her disappointment and even her disgust towards her cousin. At that moment, Coline arrives and hears Carla scorning her. Hurt, Coline tells her cousin that she disgusts her.
Quentin makes revelations to Emi
At the Institute, Lionel and Jasmine urge Emi to denounce herself otherwise they will reveal to everyone that she has been targeting Delobel on OZ for several days. The young woman deplores that they support an assassin. Jasmine explains that they share her opinion on the damning nature of her father’s letter, but she wonders if Chief Saneka wasn’t looking for someone to blame for all these problems. Emi dismisses this hypothesis with a wave of her hand. She is convinced that Delobel was envious of his father’s success and drove him to suicide. Lionel, for his part, does not believe this version for a moment and defends his friend’s father. Emi reads them messages sent by Chief Delobel to her father, in which he threatens to tarnish his reputation. She clarifies that she is accumulating evidence against him and that she does not intend to leave him alone. Jasmine concludes that Emi didn’t come to the Institute by chance. She knew that Chief Delobel was taking over as interim director. Emi confirms this to him half-heartedly.
Lionel and Jasmine inform Benoît Delobel that Emi targeted him on OZ. Benoît confides to them that he suspected it was her, because he and his father had a history. He insists that he is in no way involved in Saneka’s suicide. Jasmine points out that everything is overwhelming. Delobel joins Emi in the park and tells her that he did not cause his father’s death. He is the only one responsible. Benoît then makes revelations to Emi. He explains to the young woman that he had been a clerk in his father’s brigade for six months when he dared to present one of the creations to her. Neither one nor two, the latter put his dish on his menu. The dish was a success, but Saneka systematically forgot to mention his name in interviews. The problem is that this happened several times. This is why he left the brigade. And then, about two years ago, Benoît discovered that he was not the only one to have been robbed. When Emi’s father didn’t want to hear anything, he threatened her. Saneka finally gave in, but without his “borrowings,” his cooking lost creativity and he lost a star. Emi retorts that her father was brilliant and never stole from anyone. “You will pay for what you have done,” adds the young woman. Then, she immediately published a video online in which she revealed that she had taken control of the OZ group so that everyone could see the true face of Delobel.
After the video was posted, Emi received support from Tom, Malik and some students. Antoine, Clotilde and Olivia, for their part, think that the Delobel masterclass should be canceled. They believe that it would be indecent to continue under these conditions. Clotilde tries to convince Teyssier that the accusations against Delobel are too serious and that they must draw consequences. But Emmanuel wants to hear Benoît’s version and decides that in the meantime, he will continue to give his masterclass. A little later, he finds Delobel who gives him his word that he did not push Emi’s father to suicide. He adds that he doesn’t prefer to defend himself publicly, because it would destroy Emi. Teyssier encourages him not to let himself be done like this. Delobel replies that the only way he can get out of this is if Emi accepts the truth and denies it.
Meanwhile, Emi surprises Quentin and Jasmine leafing through a book by Chef Delobel. She deplores that Jasmine is hiding her face about her son’s grandfather. The tension rises a notch between the two young women. Quentin intervenes to calm things down. Emi criticizes him for attending the masterclass of his father’s killer when the latter had given him a chance in his restaurant. Quentin then reveals to Emi that his father stole recipes from him too. He explains to the young woman that his father stole his yakiniku sauce recipe, the one he made people talk about in 2022. At first, he didn’t dare say anything because he was just a simple clerk. When Chef Delobel realized it was his creation, he pushed him to do it, but Saneka wouldn’t listen. Under pressure from Chef Delobel, he ended up taking the sauce off his menu, but he was unable to bounce back. This is where he lost his third star. Emi tells him to shut up. Quentin encourages him to face the truth: his father was a crook. Emi slaps him and turns on his heel.
