After Audrey Fleurot in “HPI” or Julien Doré in “Panda”, TF1 will highlight a new investigator with less than academic methods. Comedian and actor Florent Peyre will play Commander Gabriel Saint-Barthélémy in the new front page mini-series entitled “Commandant Saint-Barth”. The fiction, broadcast from Thursday November 21, has 6 episodes of 52 minutes and was filmed last winter in Guadeloupe.
A commander who “gets into trouble”
The pitch for this detective mini-series? “Commander Gabriel Saint-Barthélémy grew up in a resort on a Caribbean island. Knowing the behind-the-scenes of paradise better than anyone, he has the annoying habit of carrying out his investigations by stealth. A stunning method, but always profitable “, indicates the front page in its press release. Florent Peyre will be accompanied in his adventures by Yannig Samot (seen in “Balthazar” and “Les bracelets rouge”), Philypa Phoenix (“Balthazar”, “Chérif”) and Joyce Bibring (“Clem” and recently “Un suspicion”) .
This is not the first time that Florent Peyre will play the role of a police commander. He had played a similar character in another TF1 mini-series: “Le fil d'Ariane”, broadcast on January 29, 2024. The soap opera followed the adventures of Ariane Legrand (Chantal Ladesou), a legendary journalist and columnist who covered all the major criminal cases of the last fifty years. Pushed towards retirement, she then decided to insert herself into the life of her son, a police commander played by Florent Peyre, to carry out one last investigation.
An “enriching and enjoyable” experience
“Commandant Saint-Barth”, created by Anouk Filippini and Hugo Nathan-Murat, was directed by Denis Thybaud, also behind the camera of the series “Criminal Tropics” until 2021. He also directed several episodes of two series at success of TF1: “Tomorrow belongs to us” and “Joséphine, guardian angel”. Throughout the filming, Florent Peyre delighted his Instagram subscribers by publishing photos and videos of his Guadeloupean experience. “What an enriching and enjoyable adventure. I learned a lot from each of you! Thank you all for these months we spent together. We can be proud of the work we have done, can't wait to see it on TV“, wrote the actor on June 4.
