After Peaky Blinders, Tom Hardy will be in this new British gangster series

Considered one of the best actors of his generation, the brilliant Tom Hardy will soon be at the heart of a new British gangster series. We tell you everything!

Tom Hardy reunites with Guy Ritchie for a gangster series

Since his appearance in the series Band of Brothers the Steven Spielberg, British actor Tom Hardy has become one of Hollywood’s most sought-after stars. If his role in the trilogy Venom does not illustrate the immensity of his talent and charismathe London actor has filmed for very great filmmakers : Christopher Nolan (Inception, The Dark Knight, ), George Miller (Mad Max: Fury Road), Alejandro Gonzalez Iñarritu (The Revenant), Nicolas Winding Refn (Bronson). He also became one of the favorite actors of Steven Knight, one of the main British showrunnerswith whom he worked on the film Locke before playing the role of Alfie Solomons from season 2 of Peaky Blinders and James Delaney in Taboo.

While we wonder about his presence in the film Peaky Blinders (whose casting is very appealing), we learn in Deadline that Tom Hardy will play the role of a new mobster in the series The Associate. Produced by Paramount+, this new series will be directed by Guy Ritchie, with whom Hardy already worked on the film Rock n Roll (2008). Tom Hardy, who will play the lead role, will opposite Irish actor Pierce Brosnan and British actress Helen Mirren. The synopsis has already been revealed:

Featuring Europe’s most powerful clients, the series will see family fortunes and reputations threatened, strange alliances forming and betrayals occurring around every corner. Although the family may be London’s elite fixers today, the nature of their business means there is no guarantee of what tomorrow will bring.

Although obviously the presence of Tom Hardy gives a certain character to this new series, the fact that it is directed by Guy Ritchie is all the more reason to look forward to it. We recall that the English director, who has made eight films since 2019, seems to have found with The Gentlemen the passion of his first films, Scams, Crimes and Botany et Snatch. Ishe also wrote, produced and partly directed the series The Gentlemen for Netflix. Hailed by critics and audiences alike, the series has been renewed for a second season and is considered one of Netflix’s best productions in 2024. We hope that The Associate will experience the same fate!
