Guest on the show Chez Jordan on C8, Hoang does not mince his words on the participation of Stéphane Plaza in Beijing Express.
The Beijing Express adventure has changed forever Hoang’s life. “When I was leaving, I took lots of things in the suitcase. After the show, I admit that I take just what I need, no more and no less. I take very different trips, treks, I go more towards people”explains the emblematic adventurer in an interview given to
Tele-Leisure.
He also says he prepares his excursions in a different way: “We have habits now like lightening our backpacks. I have easy contact, I approach people, and both of us are not shy… but in Beijing Express, it’s not like in our trips are a surprise at every moment.. Despite everything, Beijing Express did not left only good memories.
Beijing Express: what does Hoang criticize Stéphane Plaza for?
A 2010, Hoang participated in an edition of Beijing Express in the company of Stéphane Plaza.
“I didn’t have a good time with him…”he remembered on the set of Chez Jordan, last October 10, before changing his mind: “Finally, I loved doing this season which was really nice because I was with a very good pair
[Frédéric Lama, ndlr]”.
And throw cash: “But he, we were in the competition a lot, he was also very competitive. There was a test where we had to slow down and he pissed us off until the end. He wanted to win, like everyone else.” For his part, Stéphane Plaza swore never to repeat the experience again.
Why will Stéphane Plaza no longer participate in Beijing Express?
Questioned by the JDD about ten years ago, Stéphane Plaza explained that he harassed the M6 channel for two years to take part in Beijing Expresseven if those around him had been reluctant. His participation was even almost compromised two days before departure due to a passport problem.
“I wanted to do Beijing Express, I did it, it was
a magnificent experiencemuch harder than I imagined“, he concluded in the same interview. I am proud of myself, even if I would never do Beijing Express again. A little disappointed, the host who would later be accused of domestic violence would have suffered from the competitive spirit ambient.
