“It’s a channel dedicated to Cyril Hanouna”: Patrick Sabatier reveals behind the scenes of his departure from C8

Patrick Sabatier is part of the heritage of French television. It was in 1976 that he began his career as a television host TF1 with Wednesday Visitors. During his 16 years on the front page, Patrick Sabatier stood out for his entertainment shows that have become cult, such as Wanted notice or even The truth game. After several more or less successful experiments, he made a notable return in 2008 on 2 where he hosts various prime time programs but especially the game Password. After his departure from France Télévisions in 2016, Patrick Sabatier landed on C8 to return to the concept ofWanted notice a you Truth game. But after only a few months, he left the channel due to lack of success.

Guest of Buzz TV this Wednesday October 9 to present his new novel entitled Don’t tell PaulPatrick Sabatier returned to his departure from C8. The presenter, now 72 years old, believes that he could not find his place on the group’s channel Canal+notably due to the omnipresence of Cyril Hanouna: “It’s very difficult. C8 is really the channel which is dedicated to Cyril. He is the one who makes the most broadcasts. Each time there have been attempts with other animators, it hasn’t necessarily worked. C8 is a very special channel.

Why Patrick Sabatier left C8

I also asked, to make broadcasts, for resources that C8 could not give me“, also adds Patrick Sabatier, who nevertheless assures to have remained on good terms with C8. “We went on a short journey together, that doesn’t mean we left on bad terms.” This failure did not prevent the former star from receiving offers from major channels: “We m ‘has again made proposals on radio and television recently. I’m proud of it, but I’m in my seventies now. I know that the time devoted to me, I will have to give it, but to whom? Should I do radio? Should I do television? Should I stay with my family, with my children, with my grandchildren… I made a choice today.

As he celebrates his 73rd birthday on November 12, Patrick Sabatier announced that he did not intend to resume any activity in front of the camera: “I have been extremely spoiled by everything I have done. I have done shows that met their audience. There, I make books and the first was a success. So I tell myself that the time given to me, and I hope for as long as possible, you have to choose how you use your time. The balance I have is extremely important and I will not do anything that will destroy it. I want to spend time with my wife, my children and my grandchildren.
