The Bleuforêt brand, with a name inspired by the blue peaks of the Vosges mountains, was born thirty years ago, when the famous DIM brand left the Vosges. Today, with a turnover of more than 22 million euros, the bet has been won for the founders of the family business, Tricotage des Vosges, owner of the Bleuforêt and Olympia brands.

Each year, employees knit more than five million pairs of socks and tights. Jean-Michel Messeant is the production director at Bleuforêt. “For the 30 years that Bleuforêt has existed, we have had a desire to always produce in France. Now we are even in the process of repatriating the Olympia productions which were made in Bulgaria. We are going to bring 500,000 items back to France.” An investment of 130,000 euros and “a relocation that reassures employees. We are in the process of recruiting and investing in internal training.”

The American series Emily in Paris caught our attention. They chose our products. It’s a source of pride.

Gaëlle Tondeur, Bleuforêt development

This weekend, the Vagney workshops are transformed into a department store for the occasion. In the aisles of socks, tights. A big sale is organized on Saturday October 5, 2024. “Here, of course, we come to do good business.” The famous factory direct sales, always attractive.

A success, so much so that in season 4 of the series Emily in Paris, recently released on the Netflix platform, the main actress, Lily Collins, wears Bleuforêt socks. “The American series selected us. They chose our products. It’s a source of pride. It highlights our notoriety and our brand image”says Gaëlle Tondeur from the research and development department.

Made in France seems to be back. Moreover, this summer, brought together under the Vosges terre textile label, several companies in the sector met in Gérardmer. There was Bleuforêt, Blanc-des-Vosges, Garnier-Thiebaut, Tissus Gisèle to present the latest technological innovations, recruitment projects, relocation and know-how. Because now, after a long period of decline, the textile industry is developing and recruiting. And that of the Vosges will change again in the coming years.
