In this fiction which attracted more than 4.7 million viewers when it was released, Stéphane Bern plays gendarmerie lieutenant Nicolas Muller.
The body of a woman is found in the citadel of Bitche, in the heart of Lorraine. Nicolas Muller is then in charge of the investigation, assisted by a young intern. Filmed over four months in the summer of 2018, the TV film
Murders in Lorraine was good filmed in the region. According to News Lorrainethe citadel of Bitche, but also the inclined plane of Saint-Louis, the crystal factory of Meisenthal, the town of Neuves-Maison in Meurthe-et-Moselle and the town of Nancy served as filming locations.
To bring to life the gendarmerie barracks, an important setting for the TV film, it is Bitche town hall which has been transformed. Eventually, the city music school was transformed into the setting of a forensic institute. A transformation which allowed the film crew to stay in Lorraine.
Stéphane Bern imposed a filming in the region of his childhood
After the release of Murders in LorraineStéphane Bern confided in the columns of Tele-Leisure about this new experience. The one who had lost ten kilos to play Nicolas Muller had thus explained having imposed the filming in the region.
To justify his decision, the host of
History Secrets had indicated: “That was my only condition. When we mentioned a Murders in…, I said ‘in Lorraine’. I would have dreamed of filming in Nancy, where I spent my childhood. We never talk about this region, even though the people there are very warm.”. A condition which was finally respected and which therefore allowed Stéphane Bern to find your roots the time of a shoot.
