More beautiful life : “Filming with Lola Marois means constant laughter, no matter the situation.” David Baïot tells us

Télé-Loisirs: You are making your second return to Plus belle la vie, encore plus belle. Can we say that you are now a recurring character? ?
David Baïot:
It’s a bit occasional. I go with the plots on feeling. When the production proposed this one to me at the beginning of last year, I thought it was a very very good idea. I had hardly filmed with Lola Marois, and when we did film, we played cop and crook. This proposal was quite funny and innovative. I wanted to do it. It also allowed Djawad to get out of his story with Estelle.

How did you play deafness with Lola Marois?
We had to overdo it a bit at the beginning with Lola. We also had to manage to be careful and not be too much of a caricature. It was funny and incongruous to find our characters in that situation, outside the police station.

Did you have any laughs?
Filming with Lola means constant laughter, no matter the situation. We get along very well. This plot and the budding complicity between our characters allowed our characters to get closer in the game but also as people. I really like filming with her.

Plus belle la vie: “We tried to avoid putting our tongues in it but it could have gotten out of hand…” David Baïot reveals behind the scenes of the intimate scenes between Djawad and Ariane (Lola Marois)

And how did you handle your intimate scenes?
We talked about it a lot with Lola. We worked on the scenes to bring meaning, to bring a rhythm, to find a little of our common melody. It made us laugh a lot to go towards a little intimacy that is not ours. It was easy. We took it in a really light way. In our eye, we feel that there is a kind of flame that is a little funny.

Are you really kissing?
Oh yes! How do you want us to do it? [Il rit.] We tried to avoid putting our tongues in, but it could have gotten out of hand. When things get out of hand, the person opposite us really has to agree. We avoid putting them in as much as possible, we stay professional. We’re not here to have fun. We’re here to convey emotions and make you believe we’re having fun.

How Jean-Marie BigardLola Marois’ husband, reacted to this relationship between your characters?
No idea. I don’t know at all. You’ll have to ask him or ask Lola. [Il rit.]
