The beatboxer from Amiens was in the semi-final of “Britain’s got talent”, Thursday June 1, 2023. The public vote allowed his opponent to qualify. But all is not lost for the Amiens. We explain to you.
He had (again) surprised his world a few weeks ago. After having shone in The Voice and made a remarkable film debut alongside Michèle Laroque, Mohamed Belkhir alias MB14 has been exported across the Channel.
He is embarked on the current season of “Britain’s got talent”, where he conquered the jury and the public during his first appearances. Thursday, June 1, the Amiens beatboxer was engaged in the semi-final.
A chance at the draft
During this exercise, MB14 brought out a piece that had already brought him luck in The Voice: “Gangsta paradise”, popularized in the 1990s by Coolio but which takes up the melody and refrain of “Pastime Paradise” by Stevie Wonder.
His performance once again delighted the audience… but the jury’s vote was very tight. Opposed to Malakai Bayoh, a young 13-year-old singer, the Amiens found themselves tied (2 votes each). And it was the public who decided between the two singers, giving their preference to the teenager.
MB14 therefore stops there. Unless. The artist wrote to us this Friday morning that he has a small chance of being drafted thanks to a wildcard, introduced in season 6. This allows a competitor beaten in the semi-finals to be “saved” by the jury. It should be fixed in the next few hours. Will we see the Amiens in the final of #BGT2023 on Sunday? Fingers crossed for him.
