The rest of this great adventure continued a few weeks later in Liège, in the RTBF studios. “It was the end of October, Kacie explains. We spent the day there to record some video clips and some presentation images. The show team was super nice and there was a great atmosphere between the dancers. It was a really cool experience!”
Bringing Latin dances to life
On the floor, the Mouscronnoise expressed all the dynamism and various emotions of Latin dances. “I imagined all by myself the sequence of steps and the choreography which I then rehearsed in my living room, smiles Kacie Catteau. We did everything as a family; my grandpa took care of mixing the music… Through this choreography, I wanted to present different Latin dances like samba, cha-cha, and paso-doble to show that these types of dances are not old-fashioned and dying… on the contrary! It’s not just contemporary, hip-hop, urban dances… It’s a shame to see that I was one of the only ones to practice Latin dances…”
Will Kacie’s performance seduce the show’s audience, collecting more than 75% of the votes necessary to open the mirror and access the next stage with one of the three coaches, Agustín Galiana, Laurien Decibel and Aurel Zola? Answer this Tuesday, January 21, on the front page, from 8:15 p.m. and in our edition of this Wednesday, January 22.
Champion of France and in the world top
If this show once again offers her great visibility, and undoubtedly other opportunities to come, the young dancer especially has in her sights the competitions which remain her priority.
-“After competing as a couple, I have been participating in solo Latin dance competitions for several years, explains the one who took her first dance steps at the age of 5. As I take classes every Saturday in a dance school in Paris, I can participate in the French championship and I have won several French champion titles, which allows me to compete internationally and compete with best dancers in the world.”
Recently, Kacie Catteau won 3rd place at the German Open Championships in Stuttgart, and 2nd place at the Junior World Latin Dance Championship in Sarajevo! With always a dream in mind for the 1resecondary student at the Institut du Sacré-Coeur Mouscron: one day living out his passion for dance…
