The duet with Zaz
After a fanfare opening, Franck and Ebony joined Zaz to share a musical moment. Franck opted for a gentle and emotional interpretation, faithful to his intimate and sincere style. Ebony, for her part, literally set fire to the studio 217 set with boundless energy and a powerful voice that galvanized the audience.
On this first performance, Ebony advantagewhose intensity left its mark.
The singing-dancing duet
The two semi-finalists then continued with a song and dance performance to the sulphurous title of Sam Smith and Kim Petras – “Unholy”. If this exercise was a first for Franck, Ebony, for her part, had already mastered this complex art.
On the dance side, the two academicians took up the challenge brilliantly. Franck showed a new side of his talent, proving that he could combine singing and dancing with astonishing ease. On social networks, the reactions were not long in coming: “Magnificent painting”, “Wow, it was incredible”, “The most beautiful painting of the season!”, we could read on X (ex-Twitter) .
However, a small downside for viewers at home: the sound of the two singers was sometimes covered by music considered too loud. Despite everything, Franck was able to do well on this scoreboard. Advantage Franck… ball in the center!
The vocal confrontation
Ebony and Franck came face to face for a highlight of the evening: The vocal duel with “Rolling in the Deep” by Adele. A choice of title which required as much vocal power as emotion. And on these two points, the candidates clearly had assets in their pockets.
And it was Franck who started first, very gently. Followed by Ebony, who for her part chained with power. With flames in the background of the painting, the two academicians really set the studio on fire.
For Marlène, the stage expression teacher, it was a detail that tipped the scales: “It’s English that will decide between them for me.” And on this point, Ebony seemed more at ease. Ebony advantage!
-The grand solos
Franck opened the solo sequence with a legendary title: “Commeils dit” by Charles Aznavour. True to himself, the young academician once again revealed his talent as a performer, playing on emotion and the accuracy of the words. However, the musical accompaniment left something to be desired, and this was not lost on viewers: “But what is this very lame instrumental?“, “The instrumental behind it doesn’t fit at all”, we could read on
Next comes Ebony, who chose to sing “Don’t judge me” by Camille Lellouche. A song that she describes as being particularly personal: “It’s a song that resonates deeply within me,” she confided in the presentation tape. On stage, accompanied by around ten dancers led by Tatiana Seguin (known in particular for her choreographies for Loïc Nottet), all dressed in black, Ebony offered a perfect performance. His impeccable voice and stage presence moved even the faculty, with several professors unable to hold back their tears.
Ebony Advantageonce again!
The second finalist is…
After sharing the stage with Youssou N’Dour for Ebony on the title “7 Seconds” and Marc Lavoine for Franck with “Elle a les yeux revolver”, Ebony still had to sing alongside Charles “Writing’s on the Wall” by Sam Smith . A privilege won this week during the “evaluations”.
Then, it was finally time to announce the voting results. And the candidate who joins Marine in the final, and who will try to win the trophy, won last year by Pierre Garnier, is Ebony !
The two candidates will face each other next Saturday live on TF1!
