Smaïne Marzouk, a 41-year-old man accused of having beheaded and emasculated his victim in early 2022, was sentenced Friday in Draguignan (Var) to thirty years of criminal imprisonment, accompanied by a two-thirds security sentence, for murder accompanied by acts of torture and barbarity.
At the end of his sentence, the man will have to submit to socio-judicial monitoring for 20 years and, in the event of non-compliance with this obligation, will be punished with an additional seven years of imprisonment, ordered the Assize Court du Var in a verdict in accordance with the requisitions of the prosecution.
On January 7, 2022, the murderer, then aged 38, presented himself to the Fréjus gendarmerie (Var) with a bag containing the head and genitals of his victim killed the day before. He then told the gendarmes “that he had cut off the head and penis of a man” at his home in Fréjus.

Now aged 41, Smaïne Marzouk is the father of two children, according to our colleagues from France 3 Régions. He is married to his cousin, who lives in Morocco. He has already been convicted 21 times for various and fairly serious offenses: violent theft, refusal to comply, driving without a license, violence against a person in authority, threatening with a weapon, death threats and damage.
