The lost parcel market has been a hit for months with often gambling customers. This Saturday, January 18, 2025, the Intermarché de Moissac is hosting a sale which should be full.

It is a social phenomenon which has its followers as well as its detractors. This Saturday, January 18, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., the Intermarché de Moissac is hosting a blind parcel sale in its shopping mall. It is Auscitain Anthony Crot, from the company “Monsieur Colis”, who will be in charge of disposing of kilos of packages lost en route. “All it takes is for the label to be torn off, for the address to be inaccurate or for the recipient to have simply forgotten to claim their dues for the package to be declared lost. There are so many volumes, even 1% loss is already enormous,” notes the business manager.

Therefore, several options for the carrier: return to the issuer or auction, once a certain period has passed (30 to 80 days), with wholesalers. “I buy pallets from them by the ton which generally come from Germany but also from and Spain,” explains Anthony Crot. Clothing, small toys or electronic objects are the most common products.

Sometimes nice surprises

“In , a customer came across three laptops worth €900 for which he blindly paid €150. We also had a Samsung smartphone for €800 or a tablet. But nine times out of ten, I don't see what they contain because buyers prefer to open them at home,” continues the boss of “Monsieur Colis”.

For him, two satisfactions. “Before the anti-waste law of 2022, these packages were destroyed. So we give them a second life and we bring satisfaction to people who are a bit playful. »

Single price of €25 per kilo, or €2.50 per 100 grams.
