Here we go again Star Academythe first variety of which will be presented next Sunday on TVA, in a new setting and with Richard Desjardins as a featured guest.
Eighteen aspiring Academicians are on the starting blocks, but only 14 will enter the musical competition at the end of the first variety.
There will be up to 700 people in the studio each week for the variety, an event which will be the equivalent of a Sunday gala every Sunday for 12 weeks.

As the faculty is made up entirely of singers, a first since the beginning, director Garou and his acolytes Émilie Bégin, Véronic DiCaire and Pierre Lapointe will walk the stage and will even be able to perform with the Academicians. Godmother Lara Fabien will also be there, notably during a variety where we will celebrate her immense international career.
The voting process has also been revised. It will be done on an online platform. People can now open an account at staracademie.ca.
