He worried everyone: David Hubert gives news of Francis Amuzu – Tout le football

Just before half-time, but also for a good ten minutes after the referee sent everyone back to the locker room, Francis Amuzu remained on the ground. The Anderlecht player suffered a huge shock.

Everyone at RSC Anderlecht was worried and under tension when we understood that Francis Amuzu’s condition was potentially serious. Following a chance contact with Joel Ordoñez, the Anderlecht player remained on the ground and could not be moved for a good twenty minutes.

We initially thought it was a broken jaw but it was actually a big impact to the head. Amuzu therefore had to first be stabilized before being safely evacuated on a stretcher. Impressive images which even led… the Bruges public to applaud its release, a notable fact.

Olivier Renard and Jan Vertonghen themselves came to the news, and near the stadium, the camera team of the VRT was very sharply rebuffed when she approached the player. After the meeting, David Hubert tried to be reassuring.

“These are images that always frighten. But at first glance, it would be “only” a big concussion,” said the Sporting coach. “Ciske has already given positive signals. We hope that things will get better quickly.”

Of course, such a scene could have left an impression on the minds of the players. “It’s never pleasant, because we didn’t know the seriousness of the injury. Then, having to change two offensive elements at the break, with Dolberg, that never helps,” regrets Hubert. “It’s starting to cause a lot of injuries.” To say the least…
