This Sunday, January 12, Michel Drucker will not hold the reins on France 3. Roll on Sunday was canceled to make way for another show. A tribute to a cult television woman.
Fans of red sofas and interviews with stars by Michel Drucker will be disappointed this weekend. Looking forward to Sunday will not be broadcast this Sunday, January 12 on France 3. Instead, the channel is planning an afternoon tribute to chef Maïté, who died on December 21 at the age of 86. From 1:30 p.m., viewers will find the documentary Maïté, a woman of her time. The opportunity to dive back into the television career of Marie-Thérèse Ordonez, her real name. The former SNCF employee had started in The Kitchen of the Musketeersalongside Micheline Banzet. They delivered their cooking recipes and their banter to the public, while creating sometimes cult sequences, like the day Maïté knocked out an eel with a rolling pin.
Why does the tribute to Maïté take place so late on France 3?
In 1997, Maïté got her own cooking show, At the table. The documentary broadcast on France 3 this January 12 also looks back on this part of his career. He also looks at part of his private life. This tribute was initially scheduled to be broadcast on Sunday January 5 at 3:40 p.m. instead of Sophie Davant’s show, In good company. But, without giving an explanation, the channel finally changed its mind last weekend and postponed the broadcast of the documentary on Maïté. Hence this rather late tribute compared to his death.
The great television chefs paid tribute to Maïté
When Maïté’s death was announced, many messages of sadness poured in. Particularly from chefs who have often been inspired by her to succeed both in the kitchen and on television. Cyril Lignac notably shared some memories with the chef. “Your good humor, your good cooking that we shared at your home with my parents. I will never forget“he said. Philippe Etchebest also remembered his meeting with Maïté, in At the table. He greeted his “generosity” and its “good mood”. Maïté, bereaved by the death of her only son, Serge, left television sets in 2013.
