“We want to have a frank dialogue, between four eyes”: “Face à Buxant” returns this Sunday with a first distinguished guest

“Facing Buxant” is the unmissable political event of the week. The show which brings together several speakers around a current topic returns for a new year, with a few changes… Martin Buxant explains.

In 2024, the show “Face à Buxant” was broadcast live after RTL info 1 p.m. But who says new year, says something new. From this Sunday, the unmissable political event will be broadcast after RTL info at 7 p.m., to round off the past week and prepare for the one to come.

What changes can we expect in the new version of the show?

Martin Buxant: We chose to shoot it on Sunday after RTL info at 7 p.m. We really want to look ahead to the week ahead and be where people pick up after the weekend. We will explain to them what will happen during the coming week thanks to a notable personality.

Can we know the name of the first guest of the year?

This is Sophie Wilmès, who is the most popular woman in Wallonia and Brussels. It is with her that we will start the week and talk about the hot news of the moment, Europe’s position regarding the approach of Trump’s inauguration.

In the show, you will therefore project yourself more into the near future, rather than the distant future?

We will discuss the hot news and the major issues of the days and weeks to come, but I will always ask general questions, both on a professional and human level. The goal is to understand the personality as a whole.

To understand how it works and what it brings to society, you need to know how the person lives and thinks in their daily life. That tells us a lot about her.

How are the invited people selected?

We base ourselves on current events and we ask ourselves who will be the notable personality of the coming week, who will best shed light on the issues of the moment. Whether it belongs to the political, economic or other circles, you will have to have listened to it to understand the major events occurring in Belgium or in the world.

We will also look under the shell of the guests. The idea is that they tell us things that they haven’t yet said elsewhere. We want to have a frank dialogue, between four eyes, but constructive and forward-looking.

A word to close?

What we have to remember is that people will start their week better and well informed if they watched the new version of “Face à Buxant” on Sunday evening.
