TNT: Arcom is preparing to unveil the new channel numbering

A big upheaval? The Regulatory Authority for Audiovisual and Digital Communication has defined the new numbering of DTT channels. The official announcement is expected in the coming days.

After months of discussions, Arcom finalizes the allocation of DTT channels. According to information from Les Echos, the audiovisual regulator held a meeting this Thursday to approve the definitive numbering. The long-awaited list should be announced in the coming days.

Two new channels, CMI and OFTV, will replace C8 and NRJ12. Canal+, which will leave TNT in June, will free up channel 4. Among the adjustments envisaged, although nothing is official, LCP/Public Senate could move to channel 8, a change supported by the presidents of the parliamentary assemblies. 4 could also join channel 4 to create a block dedicated to public service. Finally, Gulli, which is pleading to join the Top 10, could be allocated channel 12.

In recent weeks, two scenarios were under study, namely the creation of an information block, i.e. a grouping of the four continuous news channels one behind the other, and even the creation of a block of channels youth, in which Gulli and CStar (18 and 17) would then this time be brought closer to France 4 (14), which would make it possible, for example, to push LCP/Public Senate towards 8th place in order to make room for this bloc. We will have to wait until the day to find out which scenario or tracks were finally chosen. The technical implementation of this new numbering is planned from next March.
