While she has just released her new album called Helene 2024 and she is preparing to return to the stage, the eternal Hélène is surrounded by her entire gang and former actors from Jean-Luc Azoulay's productions for a special bonus of Mysteries of lovebroadcast this Sunday, December 22, 2024 from 8:05 p.m. on TMC and entitled If we got married at Christmas. It talks about the remarriage of Fanny and Christian and Santa Claus… Télé-Loisirs met Hélène Rollès, who will have to overcome her immense stage fright before returning to the stage of the Théâtre Marigny for two concerts, organized on March 7 and 8, 2025.
The Mysteries of Love : “We’ve been growing up together since 1991”Hélène Rollès explains the special bond that binds her to her comrades in the series
Télé-Loisirs: So, this year, The Mysteries of Love celebrate Christmas again. What can you tell us about this bonus?
Hélène Rollès : It tells of the remarriage of Fanny and Christian. And, like every year at this time, it's also our son's birthday with Nicolas. I remind you that I gave birth on December 25 in a stable between the ox and the donkey! [Elle rit.]
In this bonus, you find old comrades like Camille Raymond, Magalie Madison, Bruno Le Millin or Rochelle Redfield…
It's always a joy! It's nice. We don't lose sight of each other.
Is it a bit like a family that gets together every year for the holidays?
That's exactly it. We've been growing up together since 1991 and we really love each other. This is also why we don't want to stop.
In the great era ofHelene and the boysthe British newspaper Sunday Times compared you to Brigitte Bardot. When you read this, what is going through your head?
Nothing ! This is not the opinion of the whole world, just that of a journalist. In any case, I read very little of the press, because either it was going to hurt me, or I was going to think I was Miss World. It's ridiculous.
The recipe for Mysteries of love and the character of Hélène, on screen or in the song, has never changed. Would it be possible to make it evolve, even if only marginally?
This formula is that of producer Jean-Luc Azoulay. This is what he loves and what he knows how to do. As for the songs, I perform them with pleasure. I also write some but I don't have, like him, 3000 songs under my belt.
The Mysteries of Love : “We were disturbing a lot…”Hélène Rollès looks back on the hatred of which she was a victim at the height of the success ofHelene and the boys
Have you ever wanted to explore other roles or worlds?
I was offered things, but it didn't motivate me that much. When I was younger, I wanted to be a farmer or work in tourism. I didn't plan to act or become a singer. I didn't scour the small venues, I went straight to the Zénith. This is also why some journalists hated us. We were disturbing a lot. We knew it. My songs were never played on the radio. It's the game.
This universe that you embody is like a comfort blanket for lots of people…
The public considers us part of the family. It's comforting, it reminds us of carefreeness. It’s good because we lose this carelessness.
Why do you say so little about your private life?
Privacy must remain so. I don't see who might be interested. Well, maybe it's exciting, but I don't see any point in talking about it.
What will you do after The mysteries of love ?
I'm going to rest. I'm not going to work like Jean-Luc until I'm 300! [Elle rit.]
In one of the tracks from your latest album, you sing: “I don’t need fame or fortune.” And you, do you need it?
No, the main thing is my family and nature, the rest is incidental.
