For BFM-TV, all that was missing was that. At the beginning of January, the Audiovisual and Digital Regulatory Authority (Arcom) could decide to bring LCI (channel 26 of TNT) and Franceinfo (channel 27) closer to BFM-TV (channel 15) and CNews (channel 16), so as to constituting the four information chains into a coherent block.
After having suffered, in 2024, the shock of the change of shareholder – with the takeover of Patrick Drahi’s media group by Rodolphe Saadé –, and while BFM-TV has not finished seeing part of its troops join d other editorial staff (on the occasion of the transfer clause, open until May), this new numbering project looks like one too many constraints. “We assessed the risk of loss of our audience at 16%”says its general director, Fabien Namias, convinced that the Arcom project can still be thwarted.
For the leader who arrived from LCI on October 2, the time has come for a counterattack.
