“For lack of agreement”: towards the end of Secret Story?
Indeed, according to information from journalist Clément Garin, “TF1 will not order a new season of Secret Story“, he announced Wednesday November 27, 2024 on X (formerly Twitter). According to him, TF1 and Endemol, the production of Secret Storywould not be able to find an agreement. “TF1 would like to place an order equivalent to that of last year, but Jean-Louis Blot (the president of Endemol, Editor’s note) cannot conceive of this, because he had agreed to produce (largely) at a loss last year in the ‘optics, as for the Star Academy in 2022, of then being in a win-win policy“, explained Clément Garin.
Still according to the journalist, Jean-Louis Blot would have “speculated about extending Secret Story by two weeks.“A proposal which would have been accepted by TF1, provided that the cost of the broadcast remained the same.”However, Jean-Louis Blot was already losing out on an eight-week distribution, he would be even more so on a ten-week distribution if the cost is not reassessed.“According to the journalist, TF1 refused “to give more than what they gave last year.”In the absence of an agreement reached between the two parties, the new season of Secret Story that fans of the program were hoping for will therefore not be signede”, at-the conclu.
