In Stockholm in the 1950s, Erik was 16 when he entered a private boarding school. No school anymore wanted this boy who had beaten one of his classmates. Upon his arrival, Erik falls in love with Marja, a school employee. But the environment at the boarding school turns out to be as harsh as at home, since his stepfather harassed him there. A group of students lays down the law. During an inspection in his room, which he shares with Pierre, we find a cigarette under the mattress. The two boys are summoned.
