The series Dexter is certainly Showtime’s most popular. Broadcast in 2006, the program is still talked about because after its end in 2013, its main actor returned for Dexter : New Blood and to perpetuate the franchise Showtime and Paramount launched the development ofa prequel series titled Dexter : Original Sin. The latest trailer reveals this spoiler to us.
Dexter, a serial killer much appreciated by series fans
If there’s a famous serial killer on TV, it’s Dexter Morgan portrayed on screen by Michael C. Hall in the series Dexter broadcast between 2006 and 2013. After the end of the series, the character returns in 2021 with a sequel titled Dexter : New Blood. Fans find the actor reprising his character with a new identity in New York State. From now on, no more murder except when his son finds him and shows signs very familiar to Dexter. And what was supposed to happen, happened…

So you saw the end of Dexter : New Blood and you know that the main character was shot by his son Harrison played by Jack Alcoott. Dexter Morgan is no more…or so we thought!
And for good reason: after the success of New BloodShowtime and Paramount have decided to launch a prequel series titled Dexter : Original Sin. The program takes place in Miami in 1991 and we follow the origins of young Dexter played by Patrick Gibson (The OA, Shadow and Bone) and his first steps as a serial killer. This prequel will offer us a vision allowing us to better understand how Dexter became the serial killer we all know.
Dexter: Original Sin spoils the return of this character
For the occasion, a new trailer for Dexter : Original Sin just shared and it would seem that what was a truth is not really a truth. Indeed, in the images we can see the events that occurred at the end of New Blood Then sequences showing Dexter in the emergency room who sees his life flash before his eyes. If we thought we were taking a leap into the past, the series brings us back to the present and reveals to us that apparently the main character would not have succumbed to his wounds despite being shot in the heart. In the first trailer, he could be heard talking which implied that he was alive and responding to interrogation or that he was in a coma.
Still Michael C. Hall may make appearances in Original Sin but also in season 2 of New Blood renamed Ressurection (ah, index!).
Dexter : Original Sin will arrive on December 13 on Paramount+ for a season of 10 episodes.
