Jean-Baptiste Marteau is a dad who is very attentive to the education of his 5-year-old daughter, whom he had in 2019 with her ex-husband, Bruno Loup. The presenter of the France Info morning show recently gave an overview of the education of the little girl, who notably has the right to see her father on television every morning, but not for very long!
“She has the right to watch for five minutes,” he confided to the microphone of TV Magazine. However, these five minutes are enough for young Colette to remember names and ask her father about his guests. “Sometimes she holds back words, the other time she says to me: “You said Gabriel Attal, who is dad?” And then you have to explain it to her, and at 5 years old…”, he remarked with humor, before adding: “but she is already familiar with lots of things. »
“Open mind as much as possible”
The journalist then spoke about his relationship with his child. And like any parent who wants to do the right thing, Jean-Baptiste Marteau tries to “listen” to his daughter, while being “fair” when it becomes necessary. “I try to listen. Which is the most difficult because it is indeed easy to know what the needs of your children are. I think we all make mistakes when we are parents,” he stressed.
“But to be fair… I can be quite harsh or at least severe on certain points because there are rules which are not negotiable. And there are things that you have to know how to let go of and have a good time,” he added. A balance that he manages to achieve in particular thanks to his love for culture: “I love taking him to see shows. I love sharing it, making it as open-minded as possible. We read as much as possible. I find it fascinating to introduce him to things. » As for the future career of the little girl, raised by two fathers involved in the world of media, Jean-Baptiste Marteau decided with a smile: “she will do what she wants! »
The 41-year-old journalist revealed last June to Gala that he had separated a year earlier from Bruno Loup, whom he had married in 2019, and had divorced the father of his daughter during the year. “Our priority has been to protect our little girl from all this, to be with her as best as we can and we get along extremely well for her,” he told the magazine. Jean-Baptiste Marteau has since found love again with a certain Jean. The couple has already shared a few vacations in the sun during the summer, as the journalist told Closer.
