Tomorrow Belongs to Us: Summary of the episode of July 9, 2024
The Little Spoon is found
Following the examination of the city’s CCTV footage, a teenager was apprehended as part of the investigation into the theft of the Little Spoon, Bart’s food truck. Lisa and Nordine proceed to question him. The young man insists that he is a minor and that he is aware of his rights. It must be said that he has already been convicted four times for the theft of scooters and a tractor. The teenager then denies the accusations against him. Lisa begins to lose patience and asks Nordine to take him back to his cell. They will present him before the juvenile judge. In the process, she calls Bart to warn him that they have found his food truck, but that he will have to call a tow truck because it no longer runs.
Later, Bart, Nathan and Valentine notice that the Little Spoon has suffered damage. The equipment was either stolen or damaged. They are dismayed. Nathan and Valentine then roll up their sleeves and start cleaning the food truck. They receive a visit from Bruno who delivers them a new professional fridge. It belongs to Sylvain and as he doesn’t use it, he gives it to them. Nathan and Valentine are delighted with this new acquisition.
Lisa and Amel are leaving
While looking for her green top in the living room, Victoire discovers a registration file written in German on the sofa. Amel then informs the young woman that she has applied to join a renowned visual arts course in Berlin. Moreover, it was accepted. Amel adds that Lisa knows. Victoire then goes to meet her cousin who is relaxing by the pool and informs her that she knows about Amel’s possible departure. She adds: “I know it’s scary, but you shouldn’t put pressure on her otherwise she might refuse.” The young woman then emphasizes that it is a wonderful experience to go and live in Berlin. Then, she then tries to reassure Lisa by telling her that she will always be able to talk by video with Amel and visit her. Uncomfortable, Lisa tries to talk to him, but Victoire systematically cuts her off.
Later, Lisa and Amel are looking at real estate ads. They are looking for a two-bedroom apartment in Berlin. The two young women have a hard time realizing that they are going to leave everything behind. “You can change your mind, I can go by myself,” Amel tells Lisa. “Would you prefer?” her sister asks her in return. Amel replies that she really wants her to come, only she feels like she is being selfish, because Lisa has her life, her job and her partner in Sète. Lisa reminds her that she is her little sister and adds that she will announce her departure to Victoire and Aaron when she feels ready.
Melody confesses the truth to Bastien
Damien informs Audrey that the murderer of John Kovac and Clarisse Belinksi has been apprehended. He adds that Igor has confessed, which means that Mélody will finally be able to get out of prison. Audrey is relieved, because Mélody will now be able to be there for Bastien. She thinks that it is time for her friend to tell her son the truth. Damien points out to his wife that it is not up to them to decide. Not far from there, Mélody crosses the gate of the penitentiary center and sees Georges waiting for her a few meters away. Without saying a word, he hugs her.
At the police station, Martin informs Sebastian that Igor was incarcerated early this morning, then points out that he will be able to move on. But Sebastian feels guilty about losing his cool the day before and attacking Igor while he was handcuffed. Martin advises him not to be too hard on himself, especially since Igor killed his wife and used him. Sebastian confides in his daughter’s partner that he works a lot and has very few friends. Igor was the one he cared about the most. “That made you vulnerable,” Martin points out. Against all expectations, Sebastian then compliments Martin on the excellent work he did. Martin thanks him.
At the hut, Violette is with Jordan and she is terribly worried, because she has not heard from Bastien. This morning he left the house without saying anything and has been unreachable ever since. Violette is disappointed. She thought it would be good for Bastien to be home, but she feels like it’s actually quite the opposite. Jordan tries to reassure her by telling her that he is much better off at home than at home. Lilou approaches them to take their order. Violette asks the young girl if she has seen Bastien, but that is not the case. Lilou promises to keep her informed if she has any news. After Lilou leaves, Violette admits to Jordan that she may have judged the young girl a little too quickly.
Not far from there, Mélody thanks Georges for continuing the investigation. Without him, she might still be in prison. Georges replies that the only thing that mattered to him was getting her out of there once he understood the truth. Mélody apologizes for not having told him that she was Bastien’s mother and justifies herself by explaining that it was beyond her strength. Georges emphasizes that he would have been understanding and that he would not have judged her. Then, he points out to Mélody that it might be time to tell Bastien everything, especially since he really needs her now that his father is dead. Mélody hesitates, she thinks that this is not the best way to enter her son’s life. Georges, for his part, believes that Bastien has the right to know that she is his mother.
At the police station, Violette reports Bastien’s disappearance to Damien. Damien tries to reassure his sister by telling her that he will warn his colleagues and that he will keep her running.
For her part, Mélody goes to the Spoon to see Audrey. The two friends hug each other. Mélody thanks Audrey for not divulging her secret when she receives a call from Damien informing her of Bastien’s disappearance. Terribly worried, Mélody goes to the police station and confides in Georges that she is afraid that her son will do something stupid. Right at the same time, Damien informs Georges that he has just located Bastien, because he has just turned his phone back on. He is in his father’s garage. Georges decides to go there. Mélody begs him to let her accompany him. Georges gives in.
When they arrive on the scene, Bastien loses his calm when he sees Mélody. Georges then reveals to him that his father’s real murderer is Igor Belinski. However, the teenager remains on his guard, because he has a presentiment that something special is happening with Mélody from the start. Mélody then admits that she was not very honest with him. Mélody then takes her courage in both hands and admits to Bastien that she and her father went out together and that they loved each other. Then, she confides to the teenager that they had to separate, because she had become pregnant and did not feel ready to raise this child. She adds: “It was your father who raised him, but I always kept a photo of him with me.” Finally, she gives the photo to Bastien, specifying: “This baby is you”. Bastien blames the blow.
