This Saturday, November 23, Nagui was present in C the weekly in order to discuss his career and the upcoming return of the show Intervilles on France Télévisions. After several years of absence, the cult program will, in fact, make its comeback on the air in a few months.
But Nagui, producer of the show, has already announced that it will be necessary expect changes. And in particular the absence of the famous cows, so emblematic ofIntervilles. Following these statements, DJ Philippe Corti had castigated right-thinking of the channel and called Nagui a “woke”. The latter therefore insisted on calling him directly to settle his accounts.
Nagui explains with Philippe Corti
During the last issue of C the weeklyNagui took the presenter by surprise Aurélie Casse. Asked about Philippe Corti’s recent comments against him, the star host of France 2 took out his cell phone. “I will give a scoopwe’re going to call him”he declared, smiling.
In the middle of the show, Nagui therefore wanted to explain himself with the former DJ ofIntervilles in front of witnesses. As a reminder, the southerner had given a clear opinion regarding the return of the cult show to television. “Without a cow, that’s no. Otherwise, we would have to do the swimming Olympics without the water in the pool, on the concrete!”the DJ estimated during an interview.
Philippe Corti returned to his comments
While he had called Nagui a “woke” and of “right-thinking” in the press, Philippe Corti seems to have changed his mind. “I never said that,” defended Thierry Ardisson’s former accomplice. “I simply said that I would not participate in a woke show“added the DJ.
The latter nevertheless reaffirmed his position concerning the absence of cows in the new version ofIntervilles. “Ma Camargue culture forces me to be straight in my boots compared to the work of the cows in Intervilles”, said the southerner.
Before hanging up, Nagui wanted to reassure his interlocutor. “Let things be clear, Everything is fine between us.”he told her. It must be said that the two men know each other well, since they presented together Intervilles in the 2000s, notably with the late Patrice Laffont.
“Being woke suits me”
After clarifying things with Philippe Corti, Nagui wanted to speak out on the supposed “wokism” with which he is accused. “Woke, for me, It’s really not an insult.”he said.
Recalling that this term was first used by Martin Luther King when he fought racismthe host is not embarrassed to be given this qualifier. “Being woke suits me” he insisted, before recalling the difficult filming conditions for the cows present in Intervilles. To discover the new version of the famous programhowever, we will have to wait until next summer.
