After “Scènes de households” and “En famille”, or even “Kaamelott” and “Caméra hidden” before them, M6 unveils its new short format “Our best years”. The channel announced this Tuesday, November 19, 2024 that this new fiction will be broadcast from Saturday December 7, 2024every week at 8:25 p.m. 150 4-minute episodes have already been produced for this series, which aims to seduce viewers with laughter, nostalgia, and moments of reflection on societal changes.

A family trip back in time

Produced by Rosalita Productions (producer of “Scènes de households” and “En famille”) and Noon, two subsidiaries of the Kabo group, the series stands out for its original concept: recounting the daily life of a French family over three generations and in three iconic eras – the 1970s, the 1990s and today. Fiction thus promises to offer a look at the evolution of our society through the themes of family, gender relations, education, and even technology.

This short program offers to follow the evolution of a family's daily life for more than 50 years: in terms of male-female relationships, children's education but also health, work, school, vacations, leisure, food, technology… And of course, the evolution of the members of this unique family that could be ours”summarizes M6 in its press release.

At the center of this space-time journey: Françoise, nicknamed Fanchoune, an endearing figure that viewers will discover as a teenager in the 1970s, a young mother in the 1990s and a grandmother today. This intergenerational perspective promises a story rich in universal anecdotes and nostalgic winks.

To reinforce the authenticity of the eras covered, the production used innovative technology: artificial intelligence was used to age the actors, generating wrinkles and other markers of time by computer, instead of traditional makeup. The production was entrusted to an experienced trio: Baya Rehaz, Guy Lecluyse and Maxime Potherat. As for the texts, they are the fruit of the work of a large collective of authors, including Hervé Nicourt, Diana Laszlo and Benjamin Morgaine.

In the casting, we find actors such as David Salles, seen in “La petite histoire de ” on W9, and Nadia Roz, who officiated in another short format in 2016, “Central Police Station”, just like Marie Lanchas, also in displays it. We will also discover Meylie Vignaud Pilarski, Lucas Pennetier, Agnès Miguras, Jean-François Cayrey, Tristan Jerram, Nadia Roz, Loïc Legendre, Lou Howard and Charline Balu-Emane.
