While Maïa has already sung in “Don't forget the lyrics”, the finest Internet investigators have found the trace of Maureen in a famous musical competition broadcast on M6: “Nouvelle Star”. In 2017, at just 16 years old, the apprentice singer presented herself in front of the jury composed that year of Coeur de pirate, Benjamin Biolay, Dany Synthé and Nathalie Noennec by performing “Moi amour toi” by Vianney. An audition full of sensitivity which convinced the four professionals. “ For me you have a raw talent that needs to be shaped, you have a very beautiful voice, you have a very beautiful groove » noted producer Dany Synthé, charmed by his proposal. Passing the first stage of casting with flying colors, Maureen won her ticket to go to the theater tests at the Élysée Montmartre, in Paris.

Unfortunately, the rest of the competition did not go as well for Maureen. The young teenager was eliminated during the very dreaded line test… alongside another candidate who, since then, has become a huge star of French song: Tayc! Real name Julien, the king of Afrolove tried the “Nouvelle Star” adventure in 2017 but, like Maureen, the theater was fatal to him. This season 13, hosted by Shy'm, was won by Xavier in the final against Yadam, who shared on social networks some souvenir photos taken with Maureen in the light of this information.
Note that two other candidates from the “Star Academy” have also distinguished themselves in other TV shows. Ulysse competed in “Rising Star” on M6 with his rock group Baby’s while Marine starred in “The Voice Kids” in 2015, when she was 14 years old.
