The Boys: a final confrontation expected in the fifth season
The series The Boysadaptation of the eponymous comics by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, will close its main narrative arc with this fifth season. After five years of dirty tricks, shocking revelations and bloody vendettas, the disparate team of Butcher, Hughie, Frenchie, La Crème, Stella and Kimiko are ready for a final confrontation against the megacorporation Vought and the fearsome Protector. If the previous season was marked by a somewhat disorderly rhythm, the grand finale nevertheless promises to be unmissable thanks to a cliffhanger which left fans in suspense.
Mystery surrounding the end of The Boys
For the moment, creator Eric Kripke remains discreet about the precise developments of the plot and keeps the fate of the main characters a mystery. Even the actors have to deal with uncertainty, with Kripke admitting that he hasn't revealed the full arcs to them yet. “I haven't told them anything yet,” he says, emphasizing nonetheless that he has a clear vision of each character's emotional journey. This well-kept secret only adds to the anticipation surrounding this final chapter.
The Boys: season 5 begins filming
Eric Kripke recently announced that filming for this fifth season will begin at the end of November. “We are going to start filming in a week from next Monday. So it happens in less than two weeks,” he specifies. Although Kripke and his team seem busy with the preparations, he admits to being partly in denial about the imminent conclusion of this television adventure. “I'm lucky to remain in denial because I'm too busy at the moment,” he confides, anticipating a significant emotional impact once the adventure is over.
An end for the main series, but the universe expands with Gen-V and other surprises
Although this final season marks the end of the “misadventures” of our protagonists, the link between The Boys et Prime Video will not end here. The platform has already confirmed the continuation of the universe with the spin-off Gen-Vwhich will return for a new season. Furthermore, other ancillary projects around this successful series are also in the development phase. Thus, the tumultuous legacy of The Boys seems ready to continue in other forms and adventures.
