Bardella questioned by Attal and Bompard on his proposal targeting dual nationals

The president of the RN, who proposes to ban “strategic positions” for dual nationals, was criticized by the outgoing Prime Minister and the representative of the New Popular Front this Tuesday, June 25 during the debate organized on the occasion of the legislative elections.

A proposal that does not pass. Less than 48 hours after confirming that he intended to ban “strategic positions” to dual nationals in the event of a victory for the National Rally in the legislative elections, Jordan Bardella was taken to task by Prime Minister Gabriel Attal and Manuel Bompard, representative of the New Popular Front.

Taking the example of “two young girls he met”, one Franco-Moroccan and the other Franco-Armenian, the representative of the Macronist camp challenged his opponent during the debate organized on TF1.

“They told me to tell you that they felt insulted and humiliated,” said Gabriel Attal.

“There are 3.5 million French people who have another nationality, who felt humiliated (…) because the message you are sending is that they are not worthy of trust,” a- he denounced. “They really exist your…”, replied Jordan Bardella without finishing his answer before continuing with a question addressed to his opponent: “You want to put a Franco-Russian at the head of a nuclear power plant, that does not pose a problem for you. not a matter of national interest?”

“Your proposal offended hundreds of thousands of French people in the country”

However, points out Gabriel Attal, Tamara Volokhova, a collaborator of the National Rally in the European Parliament… is Franco-Russian. “She attends closed meetings with confidential information on the war in Ukraine,” underlines the Prime Minister.

“The reality is that your proposal does not concern Franco-Russians in important positions, it is a way of sending a message to help you win votes,” says Gabriel Attal, who concludes: “Tamara c ‘is yes, Rachida is no.’

“Your proposal has offended hundreds of thousands of French people in the country. The idea that you are calling into question their loyalty to the French nation is something that is unbearable,” added Manuel Bompard. The coordinator of La France insoumise recalls that applicants for certain strategic jobs are already subject to an investigation.

“We are talking about a few dozen jobs,” put Jordan Bardella into perspective. At a press conference this Monday, June 24, the president of the RN confirmed his desire to exclude dual-national French people from “strategic” state positions, particularly in the Defense sector. However, no list of “strategic” positions has yet been communicated by the far-right party.
