In a parliamentary report, deputies Céline Calvez and Sophie Taillé – Poligan recommend positioning the public channel, Franceinfo, on channel 12 or 14 of TNT.
An idea that could attract many followers. The report tabled by two MPs proposes taking advantage of the upcoming renumbering of TNT channels to put Franceinfo on channel 12 or 14, with the aim of “making it the first continuous news channel in the order of channel numbering”. The public channel, currently located on channel 27, would thus take the place of NRJ 12 or France 4, but above all would position itself ahead of its direct competitors: BFM (15) CNews (16) and LCI (26).
The positioning of channels on the zaplist remains a real challenge for audiovisual groups, since the closer a channel is to 1, the more easily accessible it is. A visibility issue which is at the heart of the debates, particularly as Arcom plans to create an information block and a youth channel block on DTT, during the renumbering planned for next March.
