Nothing is going well for Thomas Guénolé in Don't touch my post. Indeed, the tone rose more than once between the columnist and Cyril Hanouna or his colleagues. Thomas Guénolé has often received the anger of his interlocutors and even Internet users for his controversial views and his lack of empathy related towards certain situations.
Recently, during a debate on Philippine's affair everyone blamed him for his lack of emotions. He then replied that he did not have the same way of reacting, because he had a autism spectrum disorder. This time, it was a post-broadcast tweet on the sensitive subject of the conflict between Israel and Palestine which made him removed from the show. Cyril Hanouna takes stock.
Thomas Guénolé sends an SMS to Cyril Hanouna
When issuing Don't touch my post of November 14, Thomas Guénolé carried the Palestinian keffiyeh in the pocket of his jacket as a sign of support. Then he tweeted post-show footage. All this did not go unnoticed, for example by Jean-Marc Morandini who wrote “Thomas Guénolé trapped all teams by showing support for the Palestinians without warning anyone and while this type of behavior is prohibited for columnists who must not be activists.”
This Friday, November 15, Cyril Hanouna removed Thomas Guénolé from the show, because “we don’t do what we want”. However, the host took the time to read the SMS sent by the columnist, a gesture that he appreciated. “Good evening Cyril, I waited to see the show to write to you, I am shocked and astonished that several columnists see “treachery” and “cowardice” where there is none. I didn't frame anyone. I made a symbolic gesture of support. I offered to let you know what I'm up to before the shows.”
Cyril Hanouna specifies that he never wants to know what the columnists are preparing before the broadcast, unless they arrive “not”he said to lighten the atmosphere. Baba continues: “I offered to let you know what I'm preparing before the shows. You told me to prefer to be surprised. I didn't say anything during the show, because the cover was enough for me. As for the post-show tweet, I do it almost after every show. Regards.”
The columnist removed from the show… but not for long!
Faithful to his mantra of tolerance, the host announces that Thomas Guénolé will be back on Monday. “I’m waiting for Thomas around the table on Monday so he can explain himself.” He adds: “It's not a dramatic affair. I think Thomas is a good person. Afterwards, he learns every day on the show, he is not a television specialist.“
See you next Monday on C8 for the great return of the columnist and his explanations. The show is likely to be strong in debate, as always!
