Since its first broadcast in 2021, Arcane has quickly climbed into the list of the most popular animated series of the moment. With its second season currently airing, all eyes are on Riot's animated production…
First try, first success
In 2021, Arcane surprised the whole world with a finely crafted story supported by polished visualsmixing 3D and 2D animation. If the public had already been able to realize the talents of the Fortiche studio through its multiple collaborations with Riot (especially on trailers and music videos), Arcane represented their first foray into television production. And if it took a lot of trial and error to arrive at the final result, the series having spent several years in pre-production, it won numerous awards in its first season.
Today, Netflix is starting to release season 2 ofArcanewhose format follows that introduced in 2021. Indeed, the two seasons are divided into 3 acts of 3 episodes eacheach act being broadcast one week apart on the American streaming platform. After the broadcast of the first act on November 9, the broadcaster is preparing for the release of the second act on November 16 with the recent publication of a “sneak peek” of upcoming events.

Big money for big ambitions
Between rebalancing of the cards, power games and Dantesque clashes, there is no doubt that Fortiche will seek to make this second act more than a simple act of transition while waiting for the concluding triptych on November 23. If we will avoid the spoilers of the first episodes here, the first act has already introduced its share of strong moments and announced strong changes in the universe of the series. With an ever more mastered graphic style and a probably better-oiled pipeline, Fortiche was able to deliver a start to the season that lived up to spectators' expectations.
It must be said that with its nearly $100 million budget, the second season ofArcane promises a grand finale for the first animated adaptation of League of Legends. Indeed, the series reportedly cost $250 million in total, a substantial sum which propels it to the top of the most expensive animated series in history but the expense of which does not seem to bother the American studio. Despite the strong possibility that Riot will not cover its costs, it must be said thatArcane represents a very good showcase for the developer's flagship game, the latter taking advantage of the colossal revenues from his MOBA to finance what can easily be anticipated as a masterpiece of animation.
