The clashes of the season

They say that ordinary people have no history. Heroes from our series find themselves confronted, caught in struggles for power and friendship. Conflicts can have an impact on national security or more simply on their quality of life. We like to hate certain bad guys or see the good guys defend themselves even if they struggle a little. A look at the chicanes, legs, lifts and even fatal blows that mark the season.

The weapons

Allan Craig (François Papineau) vs Louis-Philippe Savard (Vincent-Guillaume Otis)

Things are happening at the Kanawata military base. Colonel Craig runs it under a very severe, archaic, even terror regime. He is the head of a top-secret commando, JTF16, and seems to have all the rights. Officer Savard takes over his temporary role at the base without having to call the shots. Savard is upright, honest, human. There is a clash of cultures, ideals and techniques here. Craig trains warriors, but when a man dies, ethics can be questioned. Savard is constantly monitored. We don’t tell him everything. He is not given full responsibility for his position. For Craig, Savard is a puppet. Clashes are regular between the two. Craig has a long arm, but Savard persists and secretly carries out his investigation.

Among those who carry out Craig’s orders is Chief Warrant Officer Dallaire, a hard, arrogant, impulsive, violent man. He uses his power without limits. He goes so far as to humiliate and even shoot those who do not obey his rules. In his sights, the recruit Vanier whom Craig is testing so that he joins JTF16. Vanier is supportive and does not hesitate to defend his colleagues. He is strong, agile, reliable. He resists injustice. Which makes Dallaire bristle. This makes his life unbearable. Can they really be equal within the same unit?

As a journalist, Joe has good instincts and knows how to do her research. While going to northern Ontario to find Michael, guru of her childhood sect, it was Armand, her father whom she thought had been dead for 30 years, that she came across. He had orchestrated his death in 1991 and was therefore not murdered. Obviously, Armand has things to finish and now that his daughter knows he is alive, it is time to return to “town”.

Huguette Delisle shook society and particularly men by becoming the greatest criminal in the history of Quebec. When it extended its tentacles towards Montreal, it multiplied its enemies. Among his detractors, the Montreal mafia whose lawyer is the devil incarnate. He will cross paths with Huguette and make allies. It’s up to you to see who will be the most cunning. Although he gives the impression of a certain casualness, Le Consiglière is ready to do anything to achieve his ends. But Huguette is in great shape in this 3rd season and she will not have anything imposed on her.

Once united, momentarily lovers, colleagues, friends, associates, the two lawyers now operate on both sides of the court. Marie-Anne was no longer comfortable on defense. Leo saw this as a betrayal and reacted very badly, transforming his disappointment into resentment. This unease gave rise to vicious courtroom confrontations that harmed their case. When you love, you have to know how to let the other person take liberties.

As Marie-Anne made big changes in her life, it had an impact on Maxime. He had to find a roommate, Kim, who officially moved into the office. Max also made the decision to investigate, but privately. He therefore finds himself documenting sensitive files for Kim. If he does not hesitate to take some risks, the lawyer acts more according to the rules, which now causes tensions in the office. Be careful, fragile friendship…

These are two brothers who are not alike. They experienced the cycle of violence in their childhood. Christophe was even abused. He got through it and helps others manage their anger. Patrick has become numb to the violence he perpetuates. His meeting with Roxanne, Christophe’s colleague, could have made him change. But he fell back into his old ways patterns and dragged the young woman there, isolating and brutalizing her. Christophe always stood up to his brother. He knows it’s toxic. When Roxanne leaves him, it is Christophe who helps her. Patrick has always hated his brother. This two-person struggle has tragic consequences.

Reasonable doubt

Fred (Marc-André Grondin) and Cédric (Maxime de Cotret)

We can say that Fred put his arm in the gear. The investigator, full of empathy for his colleague Alice, has made it his mission to make those who raped his work partner in his youth pay. A revenge which is not his, but which becomes his obsession. The problem is that he is attacking someone very dangerous. So it ends very badly for poor Fred. Cédric probably doesn’t just have one rape under his belt. The man is angry and gets involved in some rather dirty affairs. No way a teenage “game” would come back to haunt him. He goes to great lengths to silence Fred.

They may be in the same little gang, but Sophie and Vicky are not really friends. They are very different. And they are forced to take part in a retreat offered by their friends. Will the fresh air of nature allow them to get closer? Sophie is negative, disillusioned, bitter. Vicky has a side party more friendly. They argue easily and must live together then join forces to find a murderer who attacks the women at the retreat. Sometimes, in adversity, enemies can become allies.

Stat

Emmanuelle St-Cyr (Suzanne Clément) and Jacob Faubert (Lou-Pascal Tremblay)

Official Facebook of STAT

Emmanuelle tried for a long time to understand what happened to make her ex fall from the balcony. Faubert was at the scene and accidentally pushed him. Then, he wanted to get closer to the emergency doctor. At the end of last season, he revealed his secret to her. Rather than denounce him, she constantly hates him. He never knows what to do when they work together. We feel that she would like him to suffer too. The tension is palpable.
