The stage is ready, the place settings are set, the tables are set. The unmissable “Confit Rock”, which has become an institution for lovers of good food, duck in particular, and good music, more pop and rock, will be able to delight the participants. Next Saturday, the exhibition center will vibrate to the strains of guitars and the crackling of fryers, from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., for one of the most anticipated events of this month of November, just after Beaujolais Nouveau. “Our dynamic team is in the starting blocks,” introduces the president of the festival committee, Cathy Galey-Labauthe, in front of some of the volunteers gathered for the presentation of this event. The party, yes, but with a solidarity aim, she is quick to point out: “As with every edition, part of this year’s profits will be donated to a charitable association. This time, it will be to Partage & Handicap 09 , led by Yves Carmouze, its president.”
Last year, some 400 guests ate and danced late into the night. This year, same ingredients for a recipe that has proven itself, with the desire to favor dancing moments. “We are lucky, in this great room, to benefit from good conditions and to be able to welcome people,” continues Julien Azaïs, in charge of programming. “If rock dominates, nuances of blues and jazz will enrich the atmosphere, especially during the aperitif.” The bands Cigarbox, Saxkal and The Smith’S will perform to thrill the audience to the rhythm of their swaying notes around the meal. Then, it’s time for the Connexion orchestra: the popular Toulouse band, with musical and technical skills, reinforced by a group spirit, will take rock fans to the dance floor with a festive repertoire with “pop rock variety” accents. “Enough to share a beautiful evening around a good meal, as much dancing as possible, and for connections to be made with the public.”
The 100% duck menu, combining foie gras, plate of charcuterie, confit and fries, cheese, croustade and coffee, developed with the renowned houses of Couserans, should also please everyone. “Don’t wait too long to reserve your seats,” adds young Clara. “It’s really a very friendly evening, for people of all ages. There’s a really good atmosphere.”
