“The summer promises to be tense for Annabelle Cardone!” Alexandra Vandernoot reveals more about her character’s future

Arrival at the Auguste Armand InstituteHere it all begins in November 2021, Annabelle Cardone, played by Alexandra Vandernoot, has established herself as the best enemy of Emmanuel Teyssier, the former master of the place, played by Benjamin Baroche. Since she got her skin by settling into his office, her methods and her inflexible authority have made the winds of revolt roar through the corridors of the castle. Does this portend an imminent coup? Her interpreter, who slipped into the costumes of the new director with as much jubilation as she has strength of persuasion, is also her best lawyer. Will the insatiable demand that devours his character, whatever the cost, cause his downfall? The defense has the floor.

Alexandra Vandernoot: “It’s very enjoyable to play villains! “

Télé-Loisirs: How is summer shaping up for Annabelle Cardone?
Alexandra Vandernoot:
Tense, to say the least! Annabelle learned cooking the hard way and believes that cooking school should not be confused with a personal development center. She’s not a despot for the sake of it, she thinks her method is the right one, and from what I know of the very competitive cooking world, I agree with her. I, who learned theater in Belgium with very harsh methods, if I had to teach it, I would reproduce the same pattern.

I love her so much ! She is a very intelligent, sarcastic woman, very interesting to explore. It’s very enjoyable to play villains. When I return home in the evening, I am calm and peaceful. Thanks to Annabelle, I can express the darkest feelings that we all carry within us: playing Cardone is like therapy. I would also like us to develop our parts of vulnerability. It is under study…

You started your career more than 25 years ago. Has your pleasure of playing evolved over the years?
He’s the same! I always knew I wanted to do this job, and for as long as possible. I am very happy not to have been a comet because, when you observe the actresses of my generation who are praised to the skies at 25 or 30 years old, there are few who make a living from their profession today. My mother, Duska Sifnios, was a prima ballerina and had to stop her career at the age of 45 following an injury. Seeing her so depressed, I told myself that as long as I was having fun, as long as I had two arms, two legs and a voice, I would continue to work!
