“Cult”, season 1 (Prime Video)

Loana in the swimming pool, the squabble between M6 and TF1, everything is recounted there with a bang. Just like the glorified rise of Alexia Laroche-Joubert, the first to introduce reality TV in France, who also happens to be… the producer of the series.

“A suspicion”, season 1 (France.tv)

Suspected after the death of her husband, Sophie proclaims her innocence. Investigator Mathilde Delboscq must deal with the lack of evidence. The duel between the two women is the spice of this successful series.

“Face to face”, seasons 1, 2 and 3 (Arte.tv)

In a series structured as a series of breathtaking closed doors, Bjørn Rasmussen tries to find his daughter’s murderer. An effective device even if it runs out of steam in seasons 2 and 3, centered on two other characters. Watch in full on Arte.tv.

“Shrinking”, saison 2 (Apple TV +)

What if the time had come to make a new start? The question arises as much for Jimmy, the bereaved shrink played by Jason Segel, as for his colleague Gaby, his atrabiliary mentor Paul (Harrison Ford, in full force), his daughter Alice or even his ex-patient Sean… Sentimental adventures in entrepreneurial flights, everyone seeks to redress the situation. It’s a shame that the series, a bittersweet drama that’s a little sluggish but nevertheless not devoid of charm, doesn’t take advantage of the momentum of its characters to find a second wind of its own. — EG

“Damned”, season 1 (France.tv Slash)

So what is going on in this strange boarding school for problem teenagers? Adapted from the literary series Fallen, written by the American Lauren Kate, Damned reproduces the most horrifying motifs: young characters reduced to their function, low-end science fiction (memory is erased with pills) and paranormal elements as incoherent as they are under-exploited. Its heroine Luce, a teenager accused of murder, remains, like the spectator, trapped in a bad scenario, sluggish and repetitive. — A.P-L.

“Rivals”, miniseries (Disney +)

Sex, TV and the 80s. It’s the cocktail of Rivalsa new creation from Disney +. Adapted from the eponymous bestseller by British novelist Jilly Cooper, this miniseries aims to capture a time when everything was allowed (especially the worst) among the “rich and famous”, against a backdrop of the launch of independent television channels and wars of ‘ego. Luxuriously produced and with a solid cast, David Tennant in the lead, it immediately reveals itself to be more vulgar than subversive. Damage. — M.Le.
