Interviewed by Télé-Loisirs, Marlène Schaff, the current stage expression teacher at the “Star Academy”, dropped a bomb about Raphaëlle Ricci, her predecessor in the 2000s. “When I arrived in Paris, I “I was in Alice Donna’s school, who is Raphaëlle Ricci’s mother, and the whole class was invited to audition for season 2 of “Star Academy”, she says. Before revealing: “Raphaëlle Ricci had debriefed Alice Donna and said of me: “Marlène sings really well but it’s a real shame that she dresses like a farmer.” » Marlène Schaff would thus have been excluded from the casting.
“Star Academy”: a faculty member was refused casting in 2002, “is life still funny?” »
Faced with these accusations, Raphaëlle Ricci wanted to defend herself via a post on her social networks. “Dear Marlène, I discovered with amazement that I would have failed you from “Star Academy” in 2002 and that would indeed be crazy… If it were true,” she begins. Before detailing the entire casting process: “I was actually part of the ‘jury’ for the castings for this season 2… but it was just to make an image (I discovered that on site, it was necessary show viewers that the teachers had chosen the students). Indeed, if you remember, this jury was made up of around ten people. There were people from TF1, people from Endemol, people from Universal and teachers… except that I was never asked my opinion on anyone at the time and the deliberations were made between the three decision-making groups. »

Raphie continues and concludes: “I already saw this story about you being passed over last year, supposedly because of your clothes, because I would be stupid enough to fail someone because of their clothes, what a joke! So I understand that all of this can be funny to say in interviews, and then it’s quite logical to pin this on me since I’ve already been called mean, fatphobic and racist. In addition to having boosted my niece (ref. Carla Dona). In short, things being said, I wish you a great season. » So, who says true, who says false? We’ll let you form your opinion.
