This Wednesday, October 16, the students of the Star Academy passed their first evaluations, and after several performances, it was finally Paul, Maylis, and Thomas who were designated by the teaching staff to be in the hot seat. If Paul was cheered by the students when he left the assessment room, Thomas, for his part, tripped over his feet during his cover of the song Because of You de Kelly Clarkson.

The dance teacher, Malika Benjelloun, still wanted to defend himself a little.
“So, what is an artist? What is the artist’s life? Hasn’t it happened to us, to arrive at an audition, to make a mistake, to choose the wrong song? That’s what an artist is, he has so much to offer. Either he made a mistake on the choice of song or he was overwhelmed by emotion” she expressed to the other teachers. For Sofia Morgavi, Thomas’ evaluation is a good thing for her. “I am delighted with this audition… Why? Because as a teacher, he gives me material. I have material to make him work on, to make him progress. He made me want to help him. I’m here for that.” she expressed.
The director of the castle, Michaël Goldman, was particularly disappointed by Thomas’ performance. “It’s terrible because you say to yourself this kid, he needs us, he needs advice, but the audition is screwed up and I really don’t want him to leave actually.” he said.

Thomas couldn’t help but burst into tears following his failed assessment. “It had to be today. These are tears of anger and frustration. I’m disgusted…” he confided in tears in front of the camera.
