“Nasty and unfair…” Fired after nine seasons, this central actress adored by fans finally comes out of silence on her dismissal

During an interview given for Jessica Capshaw and Camilla Luddington’s podcast, this central actress spoke about how she was fired from the series Grey’s Anatomy at the time.

Remember in 2018, at the end of season 14 of Grey’s Anatomythe shock was great with the announcement of the departure of Jessica Capshaw (Arizona Robbins) et de Sarah Drew (April Kepner)… The first played a role in the American medical series for ten seasons including nine as a recurring character, while the second for nine seasons including eight as a recurring character. Sarah Drew returned to their departure in an interview with the podcast Call It What It Ispresented by Jessica Capshaw and Camilla Luddington (Jo Wilson/Karev).

Grey’s Anatomy : “Wicked and unfair“, Sarah Drew (April) describes how she was fired from the show

Sarah Drew thus returned to her departure from Grey’s Anatomy : “We were mercifully thanked in a way that seemed mean and unfair, and because of that, the outpouring of love was so overwhelming that it was like sitting and watching people eulogize you.The actress recurred on the medical series during seasons 17 and 18, an experience she described as “liberating“. “I have no attachment to the series. I didn’t have any anxiety coming back to the show because I don’t need anything from anyone on this set now. They are no longer responsible for my livelihood anymore. They are no longer responsible for my success or my joy… I tell myself, ‘Hey! It’s a nice place to visit.'”

Grey’s Anatomy : April must have had a one-night stand with Sloan, reveals Sarah Drew

Still in the same podcast interview Call It What It IsSarah Drew revealed that her character should have had a romance with Dr. Sloan (Eric Dane): “Before they made my character someone who loves Jesus and is a virgin, there’s a scene between Sloan and Reed [Nora Zehetner] who sleep together, just for one evening. It should have been April originally. April was supposed to share a night with Sloan in the production’s first version of the script, and then they changed it. It wasn’t my doing, but they changed their minds later.
