Co-created by two screenwriters from supernatural (Steve Yockey and Jeremy Carver) and legendary producer Greg Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash, You) Dead Boy Detectives landed on Netflix on April 25. As its title suggests, the series follows the story of two dead investigators, Edwin Payne (George Rexstrew) and Charles Rowland (Jayden Revri), who became best friends. Their investigations into the borders of the paranormal lead them to face all kinds of evil creatures.

This unsuspected link between Dead Boy Detectives and another Netflix series

Adapted from a graphic novel, the series Dead Boy Detectives is taken from the homonymous saga published by DC Comics. Edwin Payne and Charles Rowland’s father Matt Wagner (Mage) and a certain Neil Gaiman. A prolific author, the latter has a CV as long as his arm. Much of his work has been adapted for the big and small screen. Let us mention in particular Stardust, Coraline, Good Omens… And Sandman.

Dead Boy Detectives allows itself a little nod to the adaptation of the comic cycle published in the 90s, also available on Netflix. The fine sleuths will no doubt have recognized that the two fictions have characters in common. It is The death (Kirby Howell-Baptiste) and Despair (Donna Preston). If a crossover were to be developed between the two programs, perhaps things should be clarified now on the end of Dead Boy Detectives.
