They were “substitutes” and ultimately triumphed. Romain and Laura are the big winners of this 18th season of Beijing Express, the M6 adventure game. The hairdresser and his client won the tidy sum of 77,600 euros after a road trip between Indonesia and Vietnam via Malaysia.
“It is not possible !” was surprised by the young man from Pas-de-Calais as he triumphed in the final stage in Hanoi. The two new friends beat the Corsican duo, Patricia and Jessica, in the final.
Very good adventurers, Romain and Laura had joined the adventure on the second day of racing after the premature abandonment of the twin brothers from Belgium. This victory is a bit of a lifelong dream. “When I saw the painting, I couldn’t believe my eyes. I felt like I was living a waking dream. I didn’t realize it and, even today, I find it crazy“, testifies to TVMag Laura. “It’s the fulfillment of a dream. Already being able to participate is something crazy then to win, frankly I don’t have the words, it’s just incredible“, adds the young man still with our colleagues at TVMag.
A season marked by the pair of unknowns
If Romain and Laura are the big winners, this season of Beijing Express was marked by another duo. That of the unknowns in which we find in particular a Marseillais, Ryad. This competitor at heart”disgusted” to have been eliminated in the quarter-finals by the Corsicans, offered viewers many unusual moments. His sidekick, Louison, moved many fans of the show thanks to his sympathy and his infectious good humor.
The two boys are now very friends and have become the public’s favorites over the course of the adventure. An edition “with former candidates” is already being recorded and has been revealed in the first images under the name “all-stars”. But it is certain that the Charentais and the Marseillais will be able to claim a place for a future season. “Beijing Express, I’ll leave again tomorrow if necessary!” Ryad told us a few weeks ago.
