Dilisco, a distribution subsidiary of the Albin Michel group, has been experiencing a delay in processing orders for several weeks. Its general director David Gobertrequested by Weekly Booksensures that all means are implemented to make up for the delay in deliveries and ensure priority orders.
Weekly Books : What difficulties are you currently experiencing in your distribution tool and what are they due to?
David Gobert : Dilisco changed its logistics tool at the beginning of March with new inventory management and order processing software as well as a new mechanized chain. The production launch of this new tool experienced malfunctions which slowed down production and caused delays in order processing.
Who is affected by the difficulties and to what extent?
All booksellers and resellers are affected by the consequences of these delays which relate to restocking and returns. On restocking, we are gradually recovering the delay with around ten days still to be processed (processing in progress today, April 24, of orders received on April 14). Corrections also remain to be made to the information provided to booksellers on delivery.
How can you overcome these difficulties in the short term?
Dilisco processes orders in order of seniority. We exceptionally process orders that are considered urgent, such as signatures or trade shows. The company has used all possible additional means to make up for the delay and correct the malfunctions.
Does this change your longer-term modernization plan?
The modernization plan is maintained, it being understood that the main phase is the one which has just been carried out.
