In Rennes, the ceremonies and festivities to celebrate July 14, the National Day, will take place on Thursday July 13, 2023. We reveal the program.

Fireworks at 11:15 p.m.

At 11:15 p.m., the City of Rennes will offer a large musical pyrotechnic show called “60s virus”, created by Hubert Thézé Pyrotechnics. It will be shot from the Bellangerais stadium, indicates the press release from the City of Rennes, sent to Rennes news.

As an extension of the exhibition “Forever Sixties: the spirit of the 1960s in the Pinault Collection” presented as part of the Exporama festival, the public will be able to discover or rediscover the symbols of this era which revolutionized our society and still influences it today with iconic pieces from that decade. A subtle blend of sounds of yesterday and today where all generations can recognize each other.

New: a disco ball giant will be suspended in the air to illuminate the Bellangerais stadium. An opportunity to relive the carefree sixties version 2023.

Ball from 8 p.m. to midnight

From 8 p.m. to midnight, the Showys group will liven up the Place de l’Hôtel de Ville with a light show mixing hits from yesterday and today. Presented as part of Transat en ville, this unique show will have young and old alike dancing and singing.

Military ceremony at 6 p.m.

At 6 p.m., a taking up arms will take place on the parliament square. It will be followed by an aubade performed by the Transmission as well as a motorized parade.

To allow the ceremony to run smoothly, the vehicle traffic is prohibited from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday July 13:
