REVIEW – The widow of Johnny Hallyday published images on Instagram of the ruins of her house after the flames passed
It’s a very difficult start to the year for Laeticia Hallyday. Taulier’s widow shared images this month of her home in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles, in flames, as fires continue to rage around the Californian county since the beginning of the month. “We lost everything… There’s nothing left,” begins Jade and Joy’s mother in the caption of an apocalyptic video showing her home engulfed in flames during a drive past the scene.
“I saw our house go to ashes, helpless in the face of the flames which took everything away. This video haunts my heart,” she continued. “This house” was the one where Laeticia Hallyday found “refuge” with her two adopted daughters after the death of her husband and their father, Johnny Hallyday, in 2017. “This house was our refuge in the chaos of mourning , our anchor when everything seemed to be falling apart. Everything has disappeared… and with it, a part of my soul. The grief is endless,” she lamented.
“Only ashes…”
However, she is not the only one to have lost her home in this disaster, which also took away more than 16,000 other buildings and left 28 dead, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. “I think of my neighbors, of my friends of those who lost everything, of this village of Pacific Palisades which we loved so much for 17 years and which gave us so much.
