INTERVIEWS Theo Leoni believes that going behind so early in the match against Viktoria Plzen did not help his team. The Anderlecht players fell back too far and were cornered. They should have fought to get back into the game but that was not the case, he laments.
He notes that a drop in performance is possible, especially since they are still involved in three competitions. David Hubert said his way of thinking in the locker room but Leoni assures that he did not need to do so because the RSCA players knew very well that they had missed out on their match.
They still have their fate in their hands, he says, a victory against Hoffenheim and the job would be completed. The way of getting there will be of little importance, he argues, above all, it will take more desire on the ground.
He concludes by declaring that above all we will have to make amends against Mechelen this weekend, we must not have this defeat still lingering in our minds.
