the charred laundry basket on the side of the road does not bode well (video)

The fire took with it the lives of many people, humans and animals.

It is impossible to know the exact number of pet victims of the fires.

A serious danger

However, it is certain that the dog Taylor and her litter of 6-day-old puppies would have been among the victims without the intervention of a passerby. He discovered a family in a charred laundry basket on the side of the highway during fire evacuations. He immediately decided to rescue the dogs and bring them to the Beagle Freedom Project (BFP) shelter.

The whole little family arrived at the shelter in the basket. The puppies were terrified and shaking all over. The BFP shelter was mobilized because the city’s shelters are overwhelmed: hundreds of animals were abandoned due to the Los Angeles forest fires.

Stroke of luck

Fortunately, BFP had an emergency foster family who was ready and willing to care for all five dogs on short notice. No one knows why Taylor and her puppies were abandoned on the side of the road. The dog is very thin and has some minor burns on her body and legs. One of her four puppies has burns on a paw and muzzle.

Fortunately, with the help of their dedicated foster mother who provides them with 24-hour care and medication, all of the dogs are expected to make a full recovery. For now, the priority is for the doggies to regain full health. The next step will be to find them a permanent home.
