Water-saturated soils raise fears of flooding
The rainy episode that the northwest of the country will experience is “usual for the season”but it requires “special vigilance due to saturated soils”warns Météo-France. Precipitation of between 20 and 40 mm expected on Friday should end around midnight.
These rains “However, present a new risk of overflows and new floods for the following days because other disturbances will follow”underlines for its part La Chaîne Météo, which recalls that the soils remain saturated despite the “last ten days of dry weather”.
Faced with this risk, Météo-France does not rule out extending orange vigilance to other departments, in particular those already placed on yellow vigilance.
