Sunday January 19, 2025, the Vire Collectionneurs held their general meeting in Vire Normandy (Calvados).
7,500 visitors to the Porte-Horloge
It was President Pascal Binet who led the debates in the presence of two deputies Marie-Claire Lemarchand and Marie-Noëlle Ballé. He detailed a dense report: “I thank the municipality for this premises where we have been since September 13, 2023. A very practical premises. The exhibition The longest summer offered at the Porte-Horloge attracted more than 7,500 people. It is a new record. The 37e collectors' exchange on October 6 with its 40 exhibitors brought together more than a hundred curious people throughout the day. We went on an outing to Montivilliers in November with 8 members, a very nice exhibition.”
The association also sold books: 60 copies of Vire, 1,000 years of history, 39 copies of Vire remembers, 19 de Vire, looks at the twentieth centuryand 11 copies of Notre-Dame de Vire.
-An exhibition on Cycling
In 2025, the Virois Collectors will join events linked to the Tour de France. An exhibition is planned for summer. As such, they are looking for all kinds of objects related to cycling: caps, water bottlesposters, cycling outfits… The 38th Collectors' Exchange will take place on Sunday October 5, 2025 at Vaudeville. The association is also planning an outing to the Mamers fair and will also be present at the Vire book fair in 2026.
In the meantime, members will continue to meet every month.
