The bodies of two young people aged 20, who disappeared on Wednesday, were found on Thursday in a town near Deauville and their death is of criminal origin, the Caen prosecutor’s office announced in a statement.
According to France 3 Normandyan important research device has been launched in a neighboring Seine-Maritime to locate a man considered suspect.
“The bodies of two young people aged 20 whose disappearance was reported to the national gendarmerie of Pont-l’Évêque (Calvados) on January 22, 2025 were found today in the town of Saint-Martin-aux- Chartrains ”, within 5 km, said in the press release the public prosecutor of Caen, Joël Garrigue.
“The first observations made on the two victims make it possible to establish that their death is of criminal origin, one of the bodies presenting important wounds on the face and the other with traces likely to correspond to ball impacts”, he underlines.
According to local media, the car of the disappeared couple was found in a parking lot in Saint-Martin-aux-Chartrains, opposite the town hall.
-The Caen prosecution says it ignores “the circumstances in which these two young people were killed” and the possible motivations of the double homicide: “no hypothesis is excluded”.
Judicial information was opened against X of the chief of murder and the investigations are now continuing under the direction of an investigating judge, specifies Mr. Garrigue.
